Dato' Dr. Alex Tan Siong Seng PJK DIMP born at the Klang General Hospital in 1973. In 1980, he studied in Primary 1 at the S. R. J. K. Pandamaran B (without receiving pre-school education). As he came from a poor family, he often played truant because of untidy uniform and socks as well as shortage of textbooks. However, he emerged to become one of the outstanding pupils. From Primary 4 onwards, he began helping out his mother at the market and the night market where his mother carried on her business.

After completing his secondary education in 1991, he was unable to realize his ambition as a lawyer due to financial problems. By coincidence, he took up a job as a Junior Advertising Executive in Sin Chew Jit Poh, and he was the youngest of all the staff then. As he proved to be outstanding, he was promoted as Senior Advertising Executive after 9 months. He established STG Advertising in Klang in 1992, an advertising agency providing one-stop advertising services. 

In line with development and expansion, he set up various companies in 1996, which included STG Advertising Sdn. Bhd. And City Flower Enterprise, comprehensively upgrading their services, especially in the advertising sector which has settled in uncountable clients. 

Various businesses were seriously affected by the 1997 economic crisis and Dato・ Dr. Tan's companies were not spared. They experienced financial difficulties too. However, due to Dato． Dr. Tan's persistence and confidence, he was able to overcome the crisis in less than 6 months and brought the company to a new milestone. In 1998, STG Advertising was awarded the "Oriental Attraction" project; an investment project from Hong Kong and celebrities including Jackie Chan, Alan Tam, Eric Tsang, Anita Mui and Chen Xin Jian attended the earth-breaking ceremony in Desaru. In the same year, Dato． Dr. who had gained much experience in development projects and the housing market established the STG Property Management Sdn. Bhd., and within a period of 2 years, managed to complete more than 20 projects that were delayed due to the economic crisis, to emerge as an outstanding property management and sales company. To-date, Dato． Dr. is the planning and sales advisor to more than 100 property development companies. For his outstanding performance and services in the property and social sectors, he was conferred the PJK by the Sultan of Selangor in 1999 and 2005 he was conferred the Dato・ Shah Alam by the Sultan of Pahang in Malaysia.

Stepping into the 21st century, Dato・ Dr. Tan had re-organized the companies under him into the STG Group of companies, and with years of experience in property development and construction, entered into the property development and construction markets.
